I am a psychologist in private practice. I have been engaged in the practice of psychotherapy as a licensed psychologist since 1982 (PSY 6448).
I am active in both the gestalt therapy community and the contemporary psychoanalytic community.
I co-founded (along with Gary Yontef, Ph.D.), the Pacific Gestalt Institute. PGI teaches the principles and sensibilities of a contemporary, relational approach to gestalt therapy.
I am also a training and supervising analyst at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, where I teach regularly.
My professional activities include providing therapy, providing psychoanalysis, providing supervision, and teaching on any number of topics related to psychotherapy (as examples, see my bibliography here). I also provide workshops locally and internationally, on topics pertaining to the relational approach to gestalt therapy practice, and on topics relevant to all psychotherapy, such as workshops on trauma, shame, race and relational processes in therapy.
